"Luscomb 1893 Patent", grade 3, 5-string banjo, S/N 53, Circa 1893

This is an early example of the second Luscomb banjo design.  Both have wood tone rings, but they are supported in different ways.  This is a grade 3 banjo, which has fancier pearl inlay work than lower grade Luscomb banjos.  The tailpiece on this banjo is not original.
