Fairbanks & Cole "Acme" 5-string banjo, S/N 7300, Circa 1887
Like Stewart, Fairbanks & Cole produced several lines of banjos with varying degrees of ornamentation in each line. This "Acme" banjo has a simple spunover rim, but it has high quality hardware, nice saw-cut inlays, and the usual boat-shaped heel.
