Carl Fischer 5-string banjo, Circa 1905
Carl Fischer was a New York distributor and retailer with additional outlets in Boston, Philadelphia, and Chicago. This banjo was probably built by Rettberg & Lange for Fischer, since the heel carving is almost identical to that found on some Orpheum banjos. This is an elegant banjo in wonderful condition with a nice mahogany neck with a carved heel and beautiful pearl inlays on the fingerboard and peghead.
